MORE ABOUT LET’S DANCE..
Let’s Dance is so much more than a weekly dance class. It’s about being together. We build trusts, and friendships. We celebrate the samll things like, arriving! And turning the same way. We hug each other to say hello and we hug again to say good bye.
Everyone is important.
One of the biggest things I have noticed is that the classes are not just for the dancers. It is social event not just for the dancers but for the parents and other siblings. We have become a support network for each other.
We have donated back to communtiy members when they were in difficult time. It’s hard to believe but it is true. A local young girl was in a bus accident and Let’s Dance signed a cheque for $1000,00 to help out this girls family.
It is terribly hard to describe a group like Let’s Dance. You really have to see them in class. And for lack of a better word, you see magic.
Other than the lessons, and performances, Let’s Dance has also provided an oportunity for young dancers from the private sector to step into the group and assist with classes. This has been rewarding for all parties.
I think now for Sustainability, we need numbers in the teaching side of the program and dedicated time to see more classes opening up around the state.
